Use of Vortex edge blades on the Cam
Having now looked extensively into the whole question of vortex edged blades and their use on the Cam, we are now happy for clubs to use this type of blade provided they are the modified type which came in at the tail end of last year. Therefore any club having purchased these blades after October 2009 may use them.
If anyone is unsure whether your blades conform then if a photograph of the blade edge is sent to me (safetyadvisor[at]cucbc.org) I can let you know.
Final results are now available.

Captains voted on the 19th April 2010 to change the rules on involvement with town clubs as follows:
The rule now gives a clear line:
On a term by term basis, each person should either only row during CUCBC hours (whether that be weekend hours, evening hours, flag, etc), or be not eligible for CUCBC competitions in that term.
(This may not be the exact wording used for the handbook, but this is the meaning intended.)
Note that this (by implication) allows:
- Training with a town club as your primary club
- Racing with a town club
... as long as all use of the River Cam is within CUCBC hours.
