Early Morning Marshals

The new Early Morning Marshals rota for this year is now available.

In accordance with Rule 34, the College clubs are required to provide marshals to enforce the early morning noise and traffic restrictions.

Marshals should arrive at their station promptly at lighting down and remain in position until 08:30. All of the equipment (bibs, clipboards, record sheets) can be found on top of the pigeon holes at the back of Goldie boathouse. Marshals should read the instructions on the website before arriving for duty.

Please check the rota very carefully for your club's slots. Clubs will be fined for failing to provide competent marshals.

If you have any queries about marshaling, or if marshals experience problems while on duty (lost equipment or unforeseen circumstances), please do not hesitate to contact the Executive Committee - committee@cucbc.org.

CUCBC Committee Positions 2012-13

With the May Bumps fast approaching and the academic year almost over, we are starting to think about appointing next year's CUCBC Executive Committee. There are four open positions, all of which are open to any member of the College boat clubs. Involvement with the CUCBC committee is fun and rewarding and a good way of giving something back to College rowing in Cambridge, so if you are enthusiastic about college rowing and would like to get involved on the organisational side, please do consider applying for a position.

While there are a number of defined jobs, responsibilities (particularly organising and umpiring the major races) tend to be shared between committee members who will work together throughout the year.

If you wish to run for any of these positions, please send a brief manifesto outlining your experience and what you will bring to the position to Dan Wilkins, CUCBC Honorary Secretary (dan at cucbc.org), by Sunday 3rd June. I also strongly recommend getting involved in umpiring this year’s May Bumps (details of which to follow shortly).

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you would like to know more.
