Announcements by the CUCBC Committee relating to the May Bumps will be posted here and emailed to the Captains' Mailing List.

Dates

The May Bumps 2022 will take place from Wednesday 15th to Saturday 18th June 2022, with the Getting-on Race on Friday 10th June 2022. The 2019 May Bumps took place from Wednesday 12th June to Saturday 15th June, with the Getting-On Race on Friday 7th June 2019. The May Bumps 2020 and May Bumps 2021 were both cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic, with the May Bumps 2021 being replaced by a one-off June Eights Regatta.

Getting On Race

The Getting-On Race, to qualify for the lowest divisions of the May Bumps 2022, will take place on Friday 10th June 2022. More information about the Getting-On Race will be available here closer to the time.

Spectating

Information about watching the bumps is available here. Spectators are reminded that only those with a valid bank pass are permitted to cycle with crews on the towpath. Bank parties are limited to 4 per crew (including the boatman and any VIPs). Please note that running with crews is dangerous and is not permitted.

Bumps programmes are available to purchase (£4) from the CUCBC Control Desk at Chesterton during Bumps as well as at The Plough public house and restaurant in Fen Ditton, King's College Porters' Lodge and at certain other Colleges. The programmes detail the course, race times, crew lists and start order as on the first day, updates for subsequent days may be available at the same locations, or on-line at this site.

Pegasus Cup

Donated by Richard Naisby of Milton Brewery in 2006, the Pegasus Cup is awarded to the most successful boat club competing in the May Bumps each year.
